1. Privacy Policy
Our privacy commitment: The parent compant, techcarrot, has never sold customer/merchant information to someone else for advertising, or made money by showing customer/merchant other people's ads, and we never will. This has been our approach since our inception in 2016 and we remain committed to it. This policy tells customers/merchants what information we collect from them, what we do with it, who can access it and what customers/merchants can do about it.
1.1 Introduction
This Privacy Policy sets forth the terms and conditions on how customer/merchant name and other personal data relating to them will be held, maintained, recorded, processed, stored, disclosed, transferred or used by goLALA and its affiliates (“we,” “us,” or “our”). goLALA holds customer’s/merchant’s privacy with due care, acknowledges that we will abide and comply with the laws, rules, regulations and customary practices in the United Arab Emirates pertaining to data protection and privacy. We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy from time to time.
By registering, accessing, or using our goLALA Services including visiting our goLALA web or mobile app, customer/merchant agree and confirm that they accept the requirements, policies and practices provided in this Privacy Policy and customer/merchant strictly acknowledge and adhere to practices, requirements, and/or policies outlined in this Privacy Policy which may from time to time be amended. In addition, customer/merchant hereby consent to our processing, disclosure and use of their personal data and other relevant data as more particularly described herein.
1.2 Collection of Personal Information
To access our goLALA services, customer/merchant will have to create a user account which will require customer/merchant to submit certain personal data. Upon creation of respective account with goLALA the following personal information will be collected from customer/merchant:
- Name
- Gender
- Date of Birth
- Email Address
- Delivery Address / Physical Address
- Mobile Number / Contact Number
- Payment Information
- Any other information that is relevant to the use of our goLALA Services or Site
We don't store credit card numbers (except with customer/merchant permission and in one of our secured payment gateways).
The above does not purport to be exhaustive and only provides the common personal information that will be collected from customer/merchant. As such, we reserve our right to request for additional information for the completion of the transaction in the goLALA Site and/or app.
The personal information provided to us or through our authorized agents for the use of our goLALA services or website or app should be accurate. Customer/merchant must keep all their information up-to-date and inform us of any changes (if any). We reserve our right to request additional documentation to verify the authenticity of the information customer/merchant provided us. We will not be held liable for any false and misleading information provided to us.
We can only collect customer/merchant personal information if voluntarily provided to us. We note that if customer/merchant wish to opt out or do not provide any of the personal information, we will not be in any position to continue to provide you access and use of our goLALA Services.
In the event customer/merchant provided us personal information of third party, we assume that they have obtained the required authority and consent from such relevant third party to disclose its personal information. Customer/merchant then hold us harmless and indemnify us from any claims, suits and/or actions arising from the collection of such third party’s information by reason of your disclosure to us.
1.3 Purpose of Collecting of Personal Information
We may use, collect, disclose and/or process customer/merchant personal data for some or all of the following purposes:
- To enable smooth, improved, and faster access, operation, management, administration and use of our goLALA Services.
- To consider and/or process customer/merchant transaction with us and with our authorized service providers and affiliates via our goLALA Services.
- To process orders and other related transactions customer/merchant submit though the goLALA Site including payments that customer/merchant make through our authorized service providers and affiliates.
- To customize customer/merchant experience though the goLALA Services by improving our layout and displaying contents accordingly to customer’s/merchant’s interests or that they may find useful.
- To provide efficient and faster method of managing and accessing customer/merchant account and submission of information.
- To verify and carry out transactions in relation to payments made online.
- During the registration of customer/merchant account in our goLALA Site or App, customer/merchant personal information will be collected, and we (including our affiliates, merchants and other authorized service providers) will send from time-to-time newsletters, marketing and promotional materials relative to customer/vendors.
- To analyse, research and examine on the customer’s/merchant’s demographics and usage to understand and improve goLALA Services.
- To facilitate customer service based on customer’s/merchant’s requests / feedback.
- To notify, contact or communicate with customer/merchant of any service issues and other related concerns.
- To administer and manage any software updates and/or updates and support that may be required from time to time to ensure the smooth running of our goLALA Services.
- For any other purpose which we deem relevant to the provision of our goLALA Services
To maximise customer’s/merchant’s use and access of our goLALA Services, their personal information will be shared to our authorized service providers including our affiliates. We reasonably endeavour to ensure that the authorized service providers and affiliates secure and protect the use and access of customer/merchant personal information.
For avoidance of doubt, please note that we do not engage in the business of selling our customer’s / merchant’s personal information.
1.4 Allowing Cookies
We and our authorized services providers and affiliates may, from time to time, implement “cookies” or other similar technologies to allow us or third parties to collect or share information that will help us improve our provision of the goLALA Services. This will assist us in providing customer/merchant with an improved, safer, faster and customized experience when using our goLALA Services.
“Cookies” are small pieces of data that we transfer to customer/merchant computer or mobile device that allow us to keep track of customer/merchant movements within the goLALA Site, help them resume where they left off, remember their registered login, theme selection, preferences, and other customization functions. We may link customer/merchant cookie information to their personal data which includes without limiting the items customer/merchant have selected or purchased, pages they have viewed, items stored in the shopping cart.
Customer/merchant may manage or refuse the use of cookies through their device settings.
1.5 Protection of Personal Information
We implement security measures to ensure protection of customer/merchant personal information on our goLALA Site. We adhere to the applicable laws, rules and regulations in relation to the collection, retention and protection of data privacy.
We ensure that the personal information we collected are kept secured behind our networks and is only accessible by our authorized service providers and affiliates. As such, we keep customer/merchant personal information confidential and all personal information supplied is encrypted into our databases to be accessed for the purpose as mentioned above.
In accessing third party and/or linked sites, we do not guarantee the security of customer/merchant personal information that they provide. Our security measures are limited to safeguarding the personal information provided to us that is subject to our control and possession. We therefore have no obligation and liability for the security arrangements of these third party / linked sites.
1.6 Changes to Privacy Policy
We will endeavour to periodically review the sufficiency and contents of our Privacy Policy. We reserve our right to amend, modify, add, remove or suspend all or any portion of our Privacy Policy at any time and shall be posted on the goLALA Site. Customer’s/merchant’s continued use, access or registration to the goLALA Site and/or goLALA Services after the posting of such changes constitutes your binding acceptance to the same.
1.7 Right to disclose
In case customer’s/merchant’s personal information is required to be disclosed under an order or mandate by a court, regulatory, tax, law enforcement, governmental and/or judicial authority or under any law, customer/merchant agree and acknowledge that we have the right to the disclosure of customer’s/merchant’s personal information for meeting such mandate or order. Customer/merchant therefore agree not to take any action and/or waive their rights to take any action against us including our affiliates for the disclosure of customer’s/merchant’s personal information in these circumstances.

2. Information goLALA collects and controls.
We only collect the information that we need. Some of that is information that customer/merchant actively give us when they sign up for an account, register for an event, ask for customer support, or buy something from us. We store customer/merchant name and contact information, but we don't store credit card numbers (except with their permission and in one of our secured payment gateways).
When customer/merchant visit one of our websites or use our software, we automatically log some basic information like how customer/merchant got to the site, where they navigated within it, and what features and settings they use. We use this information to improve our websites and services and to drive new product development.
Sometimes we receive information indirectly. If customer/merchant ask about our products through one of our referral programs or reselling partners or sign in to one of our products through an authentication service provider like LinkedIn or Google, they'll pass on customer/merchant contact information to us. We'll use that information to complete the request that customer/merchant have made. If customer/merchant engage with our brand on social media (for instance, liking, commenting, retweeting, mentioning, or following us), we'll have access to customer/merchant interactions and profile information. We'll still have that information even if customer/merchant later remove it from the social media site.
3. What we do with your information?
We use customer/merchant information to provide the services customer/merchant have requested, create and maintain their accounts, and keep an eye out for unauthorized activity on customer/merchant accounts. We also use it to communicate with customer/merchant about the products they’re currently using, their customer support requests, new products they may like, chances for them to give us feedback, and policy updates. We analyse the information we collect to understand user needs and to improve our websites and services.
We're required to have a legal basis for collecting and processing customer/merchant information. In most cases, we either have customer/merchant consent or need the information to provide the service they’ve requested from us. When that's not the case, we must demonstrate that we have another legal basis, such as our legitimate business interests.
Customer/merchant can decline certain kinds of information use either by not providing the information in the first place or by opting out later. Customer/merchant can also disable cookies to prevent their browser from giving us information, but if they do so, certain website features may not work properly. We completely disable third-party cookies from all goLALA websites and products.
We limit access to customer/merchant personal information to our employees and contractors who have a legitimate need to use it. If we share customer/merchant information with other parties (like developers, service providers, domain registrars, and reselling partners), they must have appropriate security measures and a valid reason for using customer/merchant information, typically to serve customer/merchant.
The European Economic Area (EEA) provides certain rights to data subjects (including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object and to complain). goLALA undertakes to provide customer/merchant the same rights no matter where you choose to live.
We keep customer/merchant personal information for as long as it is required for the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy. When we no longer have a legitimate need to process customer/merchant information, we will delete, anonymize, or isolate customer/merchant information, whichever is appropriate.
4. Information that goLALA processes on customer’s/merchant’s behalf
If customer/merchant handle other people's data using goLALA apps, such as information about your customers or employees, customer/merchant are entrusting that data to us for processing. If customer/merchant use a goLALA mobile app and give the app access to your contacts and photo library, customer/merchant are entrusting data to us. The data customer/merchant entrust to us for processing is called service data.
Customer/merchant own their service data. We protect it, limit access to it, and only process it according to customer’s/merchant’s instructions. Customer/merchant may access it, share it through third-party integrations, and request that we export or delete it.
We hold the data in customer/merchant account as long as they choose to use goLALA Services. After customer/merchant terminate their account, their data will be automatically deleted from our active database within 6 months and from our backups within 3 months after that.
If customer/merchant are in the European Economic Area and they believe that someone has entrusted their information to us for processing (for instance, your employer or a company whose services customer/merchant use), customer/merchant can request certain actions from us regarding their data. To exercise those data rights, please contact the person or company that entrusted the data to us and we will work with them on customer/merchant request.
5. General
There are some limitations to the privacy we can promise customer/merchant. We will disclose personal information if it's necessary to comply with a legal obligation, prevent fraud, enforce an agreement, or protect our users' safety. We do not currently honour Do Not Track signals from internet browsers; when a universal standard for processing them emerges, we will follow it.
Third-party websites and social media widgets have their own separate privacy policies. Always check the relevant privacy policy before sharing personal information with third parties. Customer/merchant can always contact us to: ask questions about goLALA privacy practices, request a GDPR-compliant Data Processing Addendum, alert us if customer/merchant believe we have collected personal data from a minor, or ask to have customer/merchant personal information removed from our blogs or forums. Customer/merchant can also check our Security Policy and Privacy Policy.
We will contact customer/merchant to let you know if we make any major changes to our privacy policy, or in the highly unlikely event that we ever decide to sell our business.
